Ok!
Dear non french-speaking and nevertheless (:p) friends,
To avoid any kind of discrimation, and to motivate Dan to do the same kind of blog, of far better of course, I will now spend few minutes (or dozens of minutes) to try to sum up my impression in english. You know that my english is far from perfect, I hope you will excuse me for it.
Except the eternal:
of course
I see
gorgeous
sooo niiiiiiice
basically
I mean
You know
stuff like that
:)
I arrived first in Stockholm on the 6th of september, only for one day, cause I wanted to spend 10 days in Helsinki, to help my cousin's wife with their kids (she's at the end of her third pregnancy now).
So I saw little of the Stockholm city of course, I just met Anna, my angel, I think I could call her like that... I had no phone? I had no bedding? I had no music to listen to? I had no way to pay my rent before the limit date?
Abracadabra!
No problem anymore!
:)
Nice...
I was, like often for a while, tired, and came back home eraly after visiting her flat.
The day after, I leaved for Helsinki, after a walk in the city center, in Gamla Stan or in chinese... I love to play with links, it never works ...
Helsinki is a quite interesting city, with a few very beautiful cathedrals and museums. But it's especially a perfect city to walk around, or to live in : not too busy, not to big, with a nice lake, near to the sea, a lot of squirrels, everything to be loved!
But you definitely can't spend one entire week to visit it. Two days are enough, museums included.
I made the trip between Stockholm and Helsinki by boat, a big ferry, with a even-bigger supermarket, tax-free of course, which means in Sweden or in Finnland, that people will buy alcohol. A lot of alcohol, I mean.
Even not on this trip but between Tallinn (Estonia capital, I'm sure you knew it before, you educated people, but I didn't, so I prefer to tell you :)) and Helsinki, it's frightening. They are not student who need some stocks before the week-end, they are 40s men and women, damaged by alcohol, and buying maybe 20liters of various alcohol.
Whatever, let's talk about something else!
My cousin's house is really beautiful, surrounded by the forest and with cosy toys such as a sauna :D
Great... I love Finland!
After this Finnish experiment, back to Stockholm yesterday morning, after a nice 11 hours sleep.
Then meeting my swedish neighbours, a walk around the lake next to our residence.
Today I went for the first time in Karolinska Institutet, to do some administrative things and meet my future supervisor for the second semester, when I'll do an epidemiology intership.
The subject will approximatively concern the assessment of the links between (beginning and evolution of the disease) rhumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular morbidity.
Very nice project, and very nice girl, so nice, like a lot of people here .. It's amazing to see taht things can be so pleasant, at least for the moment, we'll see later when I will eventually dare at speaking swedish...
But that's another story...
What is planned for the week-end?
saturday evening, lesson of chinese cooking with my chinese neighbours, It smells so good in the kitchen that I asked them if they coul just continue what Luping began :)
and on sunday, "global friends" dinner (the organisation which allows us to have common activities between erasmus and swedish students...)
I also hope to see Elin, a (so-nice) swedish girl I met in march when she was living in Dublin with one of my friends... we'll see !
That's it !
Thank you for your attention ;) and hope to have news from you too...

Hi,
Here in Effeil tower city the weather is sunny (like a big camembert in the sky without the smell of course) but so cold: I had to put on my beret, charentaises and scarf yesterday, only to stay in my room.
I just finished my meal of frog's legs (mmm so good with red wine) so i'm going back to work at the farm.
I'm gonna buy a coffee and just put it in my wastebasket (I don't like coffee) thinking at Irene that can't have a such good coffee...
